Music Recommendation

As winter turns to spring, I tend to move away from heavy things (stews, stouts and scotch) towards lighter things (summer ales, ska and some alliterative food dish).  In that vein (ha!), Vampire Weekend's self-titled release in on the iPod right now.  I like it.  Not sure if it's got lasting appeal, but it's fun music for a lovely spring day. 

The Hold Steady

OK, I won't pretend to be on the leading edge when it comes to new music and new groups.  I've found that as I get older, the gap between a band making a name for themselves and making it onto my radar has widened considerably. 

With that, I'd like to recommend Boys and Girls in America by The Hold Steady.  Now, I know that many of you are going to listen to this and say, "Damn, sounds like Springsteen." and you'd be right, it does.  But Bruce ripoff or not, I'm obsessed by it these days.
